At 0834, the 1st alarm assignment was transmitted for a reported house fire in the area of Jacobs Road and Delta Road in Chanceford Township. Engine 41 was due for the RIT and was enroute with 6 personnel under the direction of DC Livelsberger within 2 minutes. York County 911 updated the address to the 2200 Block of Jacobs Road after dispatch. Chief 39-1 arrived on scene with fire through the roof establishing the command. Upon the arrival of the Engine, the crew was assigned to assist with fire suppression. While crews were working on the 3rd division, there was a collapse of the floor sending 2 firemen to the 2nd division. Both firemen made it out of the structure under their own power and were sent to the hospital for evaluation. They were released a short time later. The fire eventually went to 4 alarms for manpower. Rescue 41-2 also responded on the incident. Company 41 operated on scene for about 4.5 hours. Thanks to Lancaster Companies 79 & 801 for covering our first due while we were out. EVERYONE GOES HOME! |
