at 15:33, Companies 21 & 41 were alerted to the 500 block of Woodland Lane in Hellam Township for a residential fire alarm.
Chief 41 arrived on scene with a 1-1/2 story single family dwelling with nothing showing side alpha. Engine 41 responded in two minutes with a staffing of 5.
Upon further investigation, crews found a small fire in the second floor bedroom. A line was stretched to the front door and the fire was knocked with a can. Crews then performed minor over haul and ventilated.
We can't stress enough the importance of working smoke detectors, automatic fire alarms, and sprinkler systems. Without a doubt, this homeowner was spared with excessive property damage to to early detection of a fire.
